Cakes – Classic and New
In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to make 5 mouth-watering cakes, including ‘Mini pistachio cakes with lemon drizzle icing’ and ‘ Blackberry sponge with poire william cream’. By the end of the day you will have baked 3 different cakes to take home, including a tray of our delicious Leiths chocolate brownies. Once you have mastered these simple techniques, you will have the confidence to experiment at home, to the delight of your family and friends.
The day begins with coffee and pastries followed by a demonstration; then it’s time to get baking. A light lunch prepared by the Leiths team will be served with a well earned glass of wine.
What the day involves:
- Coffee & pastries on arrival
- All ingredients are provided and weighed out for you in advance
- Unless otherwise specified, classes are a combination of a talk or demo, then plenty of hands-on cooking
- Wine is supplied at lunch to accompany the meal you have cooked
- Any food not eaten can be taken home
- Unless otherwise stated, a light lunch is provided for classes where students have not cooked a meal
- A recipe booklet
- All guests are assisted by Leiths teachers
- We do the washing up
