Food Styling Course with Sarah Cook
This 7 week course (6 Tuesday evenings and one Saturday daytime) is suitable for those looking to explore a career in food styling, writers looking to improve their food blogs, or simply keen cooks who want to improve their own presentation.
Sarah Cook, Leiths Diploma Graduate and Deputy food editor of BBC Good Food magazine, has been styling food for photography for BBC magazines for several years, runs the course with some help from other professional food stylists and food photographers.
Over the course you will learn the tricks of styling food for TV, advertising and editorial, kit essentials and tips on amateur food photography and prop styling.
Several sessions will be practical, and the final session will be spent styling your own dishes for a photographer under the guidance of professionals, resulting in a professional photo suitable for your portfolio or blog.
Sarah adds: “I have been picking up styling tricks and techniques over the past 4 years at BBC Good Food Magazine and I am really looking forward to passing them on – plus dispelling some of the myths about painting chickens and using cotton wool for ice cream!”
