Mighty Spice
We are very pleased to welcome spice master John Gregory-Smith to Leiths. John is founder of the Mighty Spice Company and his first book Mighty Spice hit the shelves to great acclaim last year. After a spicy snack and aromatic drink, the day will start with a talk from John about the spices, preparation techniques and storage. You will then set about cooking lunch with recipes from his book, which you can then enjoy with a glass of wine. You will take home your cake.
The menu:
Alleppy prawn curry, Coconut and tomato rice
Jetalah pineapple, cucumber and chilli salad
Mexican peaches
Lebanese lemon cake
What the day involves:
- Coffee & pastries on arrival
- All ingredients are provided and weighed out for you in advance
- Unless otherwise specified, classes are a combination of a talk or demo, then plenty of hands-on cooking
- Wine is supplied at lunch to accompany the meal you have cooked
- Any food not eaten can be taken home
- Unless otherwise stated, a light lunch is provided for classes where students have not cooked a meal
- A recipe booklet
- All guests are assisted by Leiths teachers
- We do the washing up
