We've asked our teachers to round up the food podcasts which they think you should be consuming...

As part of our #LeithsLoves series, we've asked our teachers to share their go-to food-focused podcasts. Happy listening!

The Food Chain BBC World Service - Annie Evans

This comprehensive podcast offers a full roster of food-related topics, from ritual slaughter laws and sweeping pig plagues to Instagram influencing and restaurant faux pas. Tune in to hear celebrity chefs such as Samin Nosrat and Angela Hartnett reveal the dishes that made them, or learn all there is to know about sombre societal and personal food issues including homelessness and food after loss.

Table Manners - Sue Nixon

Table Manners centers on the simple pleasure of enjoying food at the table; inviting an impressive muster of guests each episode for a chat and a bite to eat. Previous guests from the food world have included Jay Rayner, Raymond Blanc and Nigella Lawson.


The BBC Food Programme - Annie Evans

An enjoyably investigative podcast, The BBC's Food Programme aims to look at the myriad aspects of how, what and why humans eat. In a concise package of under 30 minutes, each episode packs in an impressive amount of foodie information with untiring clarity, whether its a deep dive into the career of Jamie Oliver or a look into the future of personalised nutrition.


How To Fail with Elizabeth Day - Pamela Daniels (Leiths marketing)

A refreshingly honest and relatable podcast celebrating life's failures and things that go wrong. Each week, Elizabeth Day interviews someone new and they discuss how their failures have taught them how to succeed better. Although this is not always food related, one episode not to miss is with celebrity chef Samin Nosrat as she openly explores her childhood, business fails and some hilarious memories. We also recommend the episode with the Observer's food writer Nigel Slater; a really insightful and enjoyable listen.


Gastropod - Mark Williams

Serving food with a side of science and history, Gastropod sets out to tackle the hypes and de-bunk myths; exploring food with a sharp investigative lens. It's best suited to those hoping to come away with a new slither of information, whether its on omega-3s, sharbat or fumigants.


Bon Appétit Foodcast - Annie Evans

Bon Appétit's Foodcast explores a gamut of interesting topics for foodies, featuring interviews with chefs, writers and anyone involved in the world of food. Expect exclusive chats with top restaurant chefs, a look into the cooking techniques we should all be trying and passionate discussions of mac & cheese.


Honey & Co: The Food Talks - Zoe Donnelly

Honey & Co founders Itamar Srulovich and Sarit Packer record each episode at their own food store Honey & Spice in front of a small crowd, inviting people from the food world who they most admire. Cooks, writers, thinkers and more, Itamar and Sarit delve into the stories of their interviewees with a glass of wine and food to boot.
