Due to the coronavirus outbreak Leiths has made the difficult decision to cancel all planned courses (except our online courses) until the end of June. In these exceptional circumstances all students who have booked places on our courses will be offered the opportunity to cancel or reschedule their course. If you are currently in the process of taking a multi-part course, you will be offered new dates to complete the course later in the year. Of course we will be dealing with a high volume of calls and emails and we thank you for your understanding and patience during this unsettling time. We look forward to cooking with you at Leiths in the near future.

WeCook - Bringing people together around food online

Former Leiths’ students have created WeCook to help dispel those isolation blues by bringing people together around food. Have a read about their project and let's support eachother during lockdown by staying connected and getting involved in these exciting new initiatives.

Former Leiths’ students have created WeCook to help dispel those isolation blues by bringing people together around food. This is something that Leiths alumna Anthea had for some time, but as everyone is now stuck at home, cooking a good deal more than usual, it felt like the perfect time to start.

Without pre-planned recipes or an abundance of our favourite ingredients at our fingertips the prospect of all that cooking can seem a bit daunting. We can’t meet with people who share our interests anymore, and for most of us cooking has quickly become a chore.

If you are passionate about food and cooking, please join us to share, learn, create and have fun. Our evening workshops are at 7pm every week day and cook-alongs on Saturday afternoons at 2pm. We’re all very casual and the vibe is very much one of sharing kitchens.

Our sessions are hosted by Anthea, supported by Jess and Zoe. Anthea and Zoe are former Leiths Diploma students and established professional chefs. Jess is an aspiring chef and experienced home cook, currently in the final term of her Leiths Diploma. More host-chefs to come; we will be offering a diverse mix of people for the community to interact with over time.

For the workshops you won't need to bring anything (maybe a glass of wine?!), just yourself and your questions on the subject of that session; they’ll be listed on the website each week so you can choose which workshop you’d like to attend. For the cook-alongs, you'll receive details of the ingredients well ahead of time so you can organise your shop and minimise trips out of the house.

We've started posting on Instagram so follow us there for ideas and giggles.

Our website has event sign-up, recipes and our blog.

We're still finding our feet so please join us and help shape something for cooks in isolation everywhere!
