Contract type: Permanent. (The role has potential for being either full or part time.)

Salary: £22,000 + Monday – Friday 8.45 – 17.00

Leiths School of Food and Wine, based in West London, W12, is a first-class training school for chefs, attracting students of all ages from all over the world. Former Leiths graduate and owner of Divertimenti Cookery School Camilla Schneideman replaced her and remains the managing director to this day.

Job Description

We are looking for a Receptionist/ Administrative Assistant this is a varied role which would suit a motivated, enthusiastic team player. As our receptionist you will often be the first point of contact for our customers and as such will play a vital role in providing a great first impression of Leiths.

The successful candidate will be an extremely organised person with good typing, admin and IT skills. They must be a good communicator, have fluent spoken English and a friendly and professional telephone manner. Days are busy so they will need to have good time management skills and be able to work under pressure.

The job will involve answering phone enquiries and you will work as part of the Leiths admin team. In addition to answering the phone, you will be organising kitchen staff rotas, taking course bookings, and welcoming students to the school as required; alongside admin tasks such as typing wine notes, organising course certificates and some P.A. duties for the Leiths senior managers.

Training will be given on all Leiths systems and you will be supported by the Director of Operations and Events.

  • Strong Excel skills and good general computer knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work in a busy, sometimes noisy environment

Desirable

  • Knowledge of basic H.R. admin
  • Knowledge and interest in food

Required:

  • GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths grade A – C
  • Fluent spoken English

  • Initiative and enthusiasm, with the ability to work individually or as part of a team
