It’s a good time to be obsessed with cheese with Britain’s artisan cheese culture thriving. As the appreciation for cheese grows, so too does the art of making your own.

Develop your cheese making skills as you join Louise Talbot, founder of Cutting the Curd on this one-day class and explore the production techniques of some of the countries favourite cheeses including a unique to Leiths Cheddar, Camembert and Labneh.

With all recipes being easy to recreate at home with minimal equipment, you’ll soon be making your own artisan cheeses with confidence. Please note that students will need to finish pressing their cheddars at home and will require 4.5 kilograms of weight to do so. Gym weights, saucepans of water, heavy books, bricks wrapped in clingfilm etc are all suitable options.

What is included:

  • Refreshments on arrival
  • A recipe booklet
  • All ingredients provided and weighed out for you in advance
  • Lunch of your own making or a Leiths Ploughman’s with Louis Latour wines
  • We do the washing up!

What you need to bring:

  • Flat soled shoes
  • Long trousers and a long sleeved top are advisable

We are happy to make adjustments where possible. Some classes are however unsuitable for people with particular intolerances – where the menu would need to be completely different.
