The kitchen is a great place for families to spend some quality time together! This course will teach you and your child lots of useful cookery skills, along with delicious dishes you can whip up as a team.

From mouth-watering baking to simple healthy mains, each adult and child pair will prepare a selection of dishes to be proud of.

And for every child that enrols, Leiths will donate £10 to our Charity of the Year, City Harvest. Children must be between the ages of 8 and 16, inclusively. 

City Harvest are dedicated to putting the food industry’s surplus food to use in a sustainable way. Your £10 will deliver 40 nutritious meals to the hungry, so while your little one will be able to learn some valuable life skills over the duration of the session, taking part will have a positive impact on other people too.

Important information about this class: 
Purchasing a ticket for this class will reserve a space for one adult (£155) and one child (£75). 

When going through the checkout, please enter the details of the adult who will be in attendance in the participant fields and the name and age of the child in the comments/special instructions field, so that we know who to expect. 

Children should be between the ages of 8 and 16, inclusively.

Class structure
Cooking with your classmates is an integral part of your Leiths experience. You will cook some of your recipes in pairs, and some independently – whatever the ratio, there is always more than enough food, and often food to take home too (foil containers and bags provided). 

Your day will comprise of a mixture of hands on cookery and demonstrations performed by the chef who is running the session. The exact format will vary from class to class depending on the style of cuisine and, in the case of visiting chefs,  their  individual teaching style.

Unless otherwise stated, you will be eating the food that you have cooked during your class for lunch, usually with elderflower cordial around a communal table. If your class does not involve cooking lunch you will enjoy delicious sharing platters prepared by the school.

What is included:

  • Refreshments on arrival
  • A recipe booklet
  • All ingredients provided and weighed out for you in advance
  • Lunch of your own making or sharing platters prepared by the school
  • We do the washing up!

What you need to bring:

  • Flat soled shoes
  • Long trousers and a long sleeved top are advisable

Allergies and dietary restrictions:

We are happy to make adjustments where possible. Some classes are however unsuitable for people with particular intolerances – where the menu would need to be completely different.
