University
Student life doesn’t have to be peppered with Pot Noodles and microwaveable meals. Learn how to make simple, tasty dishes for yourself and your new flat mates, such as spiced lamb kofta and tzatziki, or cement new friendships over a roast with all the trimmings, followed by the best chocolate brownies you'll ever taste. With our survival kit, you’ll be a big name on campus in no time.

Working life
The 9 to 5 routine is a lot easier if you know that you can throw together a quick vegetable stiry fry when you get home. Using your new found skills, you will be able to spruce up your packed lunches and feel confident about cooking dinner for friends as well as making sure that you’re keeping yourself well fed and healthy.

Gap year
Ski seasons and chalets, backpacking and travelling around far flung places, volunteering to make the world a better place; your gap year may well be one of the most memorable experiences you’ll ever have. Put the icing on the cake by making sure you have equally amazing food experiences along the way by learning how to cook safely and confidently. After your week at Leiths, you could be cooking fresh pasta in Italy or warming yourself up after a day on the slopes by rustling up a Thai chicken curry.

Class structure

Cooking with your classmates is an integral part of your Leiths experience. You will cook some of your recipes in pairs, and some independently – whatever the ratio, there is always more than enough food, and often food to take home too (foil containers and bags provided).

Your day will comprise of a mixture of hands on cookery and demonstrations performed by the chef who is running the session. The exact format will vary from class to class depending on the style of cuisine and, in the case of visiting chefs, their individual teaching style.

You will be eating the food that you have cooked during your class for lunch with elderflower cordial around a communal table.
